It all started in 1681. In Salbohed there was a regiment of the army until 1906. In this timeframe there have been eight companies with a total of 1200 soldiers in Salbohed. They worked and lived in this surrounding and harvested milled grain for brewing beer, which was short at hand at the time. The army also needed a good glass of beer! Among others the beer was brewed in the officers House.

Västmanland (which means 'westland') has the opinion that these soldiers played a very important role in the battle at Polish Clyszow in 1702 under command of King Charles XII. In the last 200 years, the Swedes have not participated in any war.

Until now there are few buildings of this type in Sweden, of which one is in Salbohed: the officers House.

Now Wilma and Johan Akkerman receive guests at the officers house where they started their Bed & Breakfast (Hotel).
